The Graduation and your other July stories

Hi  friends,
I hope you are well, still firmly holding on to faith in our Lord Jesus. I am well too, always happy to inform you the things God is accomplishing in the ministry. May these snippets from my life and ministry encourage you, as you too serve God in the places He has put you.

LEAP Graduation.

After two months of weekly classes, a 3-day camp, sleepovers and mentorship-group meetings, the Form-4 ex-candidates (‘LEAPers’) graduated, officially declared ready for college. The 34 had been part of LEAP, a program where we work to not just prepare them for college life but also impart godly principles and disciplines, guiding them to become true disciples of Christ.

The parents who attended were very pleased by the event. One of them has detailed the change she has seen in her 18-year old son, Elijah, who having passed through LEAP now studies his Bible every morning and has a big interest in godliness.

Broad-sowing in High schools

Every year, our fellow missionaries with Campus Crusade in the U.S. send a team of students to Kenya to participate in an annual ‘broad-sowing’ mission. In this mission, they do a week-long tour to various high schools, sharing on issues affecting high-school students, and then incorporating the gospel in their presentations.
This month we had another broad-sowing mission. The LEAPers who participated were beside themselves with joy.
About seven thousand teenagers across Kenya were exposed to the gospel during the two weeks.

Mission to Swaziland

My housemate, Gachagwa, with a team of 6 others, left yesterday (Sunday 31st) for a two-month mission to Swaziland. They will be in the University of Swaziland, where they trust God to evangelize, disciple the converts and train them to evangelize and be disciplers of others, creating a ripple effect that will, by God’s grace, stir a spiritual revival in the campuses.

The Life Ministry team in Swaziland is need of missionaries that can serve with students.

Prayer points:

-Thank God for the success of LEAP 2011. Pray that the mentors will be reenergized (Isaiah 48)
-Thank God for the big plans He has layed in our hearts for next year’s LEAP.
- Pray with me as I lead a team that is currently organizing a nation-wide student leaders envisioning camp.
